Regional court overrules Rome parking-rate increase Cancels stiffer fines for driving in closed zones (ANSA) – Rome, March 17 – The Lazio regional administrative court on Tuesday annulled a resolution made last summer by the City of Rome to increase parking rates in parts of the city. The TAR accepted an action brought by consumer group Codacons against the higher parking fee in areas where the parking spots are delineated with blue stripes. It also cancelled a council resolution to increase fines for motorists who drive in restricted traffic zones in the Italian capital. As well, the TAR rejected a proposed increase in nursery school fees, saying that the proposal was put forward to late as the school year is well under way.
