Dall’inizio del 2025, gli arrivi in Italia hanno raggiunto quota 7.677, di cui 1.074 minori sotto i 18 anni. Alla data del 28 febbraio 2025, almeno 138.489 rifugiati e migranti erano presenti nel sistema di accoglienza italiano, tra cui 17.542 minori stranieri non accompagnati, come risultante dal censimento del 31 gennaio. La rotta del Mediterraneo centrale continua a rappresentare la principale via di fuga da conflitti, persecuzioni e disperazione.
Il numero degli arrivi in Italia è in costante aumento, con un crescente bisogno di supporto per l’integrazione e l’assistenza delle persone in fuga. In questo contesto, il Codacons ha attivato il progetto A Better Future for Women, che prevede una rete di sportelli di supporto presenti su tutto il territorio nazionale, pensata per rispondere alle necessità specifiche delle donne rifugiate che richiedono assistenza e orientamento.
Il progetto mira a garantire un percorso di inclusione e autonomia per le donne rifugiate, promuovendo l’accesso a servizi di supporto psicologico, formazione professionale, e opportunità di inserimento nel mercato del lavoro. L’obiettivo è quello di offrire alle donne in fuga un’opportunità concreta per ricostruire una vita dignitosa e indipendente.

The Emergency in Italy and Codacons’ Commitment through the “A Better Future for Women” Project

Since the beginning of 2025, arrivals in Italy have reached 7,677, including 1,074 minors under the age of 18. As of February 28, 2025, at least 138,489 refugees and migrants were present in Italy’s reception system, including 17,542 unaccompanied foreign minors, according to the census taken on January 31. The central Mediterranean route remains the main escape route from wars, persecution, and despair.
The number of arrivals in Italy continues to rise, creating an increasing need for support in the integration and assistance of those fleeing. In this context, Codacons has activated the A Better Future for Women project, which provides a network of support centers across the country, specifically dedicated to refugee women in need of assistance and guidance.
The project aims to provide pathways to inclusion and autonomy for refugee women, promoting access to psychological support services, professional training, and employment opportunities. The goal is to offer these women a concrete opportunity to rebuild a dignified and independent life.
The activities of the project are promoted by Codacons and financed through the eight per thousand IRPEF funds directly managed by the state for the year 2019.
