(ANSA) – Rome, September 5 – Italy’s economy is heading for a ‘black fall’, Codacons consumer group said after official data showed the national economy has hit the doldrums Monday. “We see hard months ahead for our economy, especially on the consumer, sales and trade front,” said Codacons chief Carlo Rienzi. “Istat has once again certified Italy’s negative trend and a stalled recovery”. The government must do more to stimulate internal demand, the association said. “We need a shock therapy with specific measures to sustain family consumption in the long term,” Rienzi said.
