Consumer groups prepare class-action lawsuits(ANSA) – Milan, September 23 – The Italian government has asked Volkswagen for information on the emissions rigging of millions of diesel cars, Industry Minister Federica Guidi said Wednesday. “It’ s a picture of great gravity and concern,” she said, revealing that Environment Minister Gian Luca Galletti and Transport Minister Graziano Del Rio have asked the Wolfsburg giant about possible “repercussions and contagion on the Italian market”. Consumer groups Codacons, Adusbef and Federconsumatori called for the government to “immediately” clarify how many vehicles might be involved in Italy. They said they were ready with class-action lawsuits against the German automaker.
