(ANSA) – Rome, May 31 – A worker for municipal waste company AMA used a pump in Rome’s iconic Piazza del Popolo to wash his car Tuesday, Codacons consumers’ association reported.
    “A UNESCO-listed historical site was turned into a private car wash,” said Codacons chief Carlo Rienzi, who is running for Rome mayor next month.
    “An aberration, that took place smack in the historic centre in front of hundreds of tourists, that shows the state of neglect the capital has been plunged into,” he said, announcing a suit for damages.
