Rome, December 24 – Italians will spend a little over 2.8 billion euros on Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch this year, up 5% on 2014, consumer association Codacons said Thursday. Over one billion euros will be spent on fish and meat, 520 million euros on wines and other beverages and 480 million euros on traditional Christmas desserts and sweets, Codacons said. The association said Italians are once again concentrating their Christmas spending on food products, toys and technological items.
