(ANSA) – Rome, September 15 – A number of passengers were trapped in a station of Rome’s subway for several hours Saturday night, it emerged Tuesday.
Consumer association Codacons said it was mulling a suit for abduction against city transport company ATAC, saying the episode was “disgraceful”.
Rome councillor for transport, Stefano Esposito, said he “spent every day urging and moaning (to ATAC)”.
“But this is the transport company we’ve got in Rome: they don’t even do the rounds of the station to make sure no one is there,” he said.
“Let’s hope they’ll be more attentive in the future”.
The incident happened in the central Flaminio station of the subway’s A line, in Piazza del Popolo.
